Ka’anapali Beach is an absolutely wonderful beach. It is located on the North West coast of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The sand is exceptionally soft the sunsets are exquisite and you will not want, for resort living as resort hotels line almost the entire three mile length of Ka’anapali Beach.

No matter where you look when you research Ka’anapali Beach you’ll see a plethora of names. I like the explanation in Andrew Doughty’s book “Maui Revealed” “we’ll bow to the more common usage and designate it (Ka’anapali Beach) as the sandy beach from Black Rock south to Canoe Beach, including the section known as Dig Me Beach.”

Although it is one of the more densely populated beaches on Maui, it wasn’t overly crowded. There were numerous crowds and small throngs of beach patrons there to watch the sun set as well as about six large boats off shore, providing sunset excursions for tourists and locals alike.

The water was pretty calm and there were numerous groups of children playing in the surf. We watched as the sun set and then turned our attention towards the lighting of the Tiki torches on Black Rock, ending with the final torch being lit and the traditional dive into the ocean, symbolizing the Hawaiian’s soul moving from this life to the after life with their ancestors.

The area itself is very beautiful both the manicured beauty of the resorts and golf courses to the exotic beauty one comes to expect from a Hawaiian Beach. This area alone has just about everything you could want from the beach to the numerous restaurants, paved walkways to enjoy the walk along the beach, for those that don’t want the walk in the sand, to the romantic sunsets you travel to Hawaii to experience.

We were treated to a seal coming ashore in the evening and a couple of sea turtles graced us with their presence as well. Just about every resource you study regarding Dig Me Beach lists it as an outstanding place to snorkel. Although we did a considerable amount of snorkeling on this trip, we did not actually do any at Dig Me Beach.

We have several videos of Dig Me Beach on our website at My Blu Horizon. The above video is a beautiful, sand’s eye view of the ocean waves washing ashore with the sun setting in the back ground. Two different videos show the sun setting with sail boats silhouetted as they pass in front of the setting sun and we have the lit Tiki Torches of Black Rock as storm clouds roll in.

All videos from My Blu Horizon are shot in 1080i and are currently available as a computer screensaver. My Blu Horizon also has downloads to play on your digital picture frame or your ipod/iphone. We hope you enjoy our videos and if you visit Maui you have to visit Dig Me Beach and take in the glorious sunsets.

Dig Me Beach will not disappoint. This video is available in a variety of formats from computer screensaver, digital picture frame and Iphone/Ipod videos. The videos can be purchased at Dig Me Beach.

Enjoy the video and
